Phuture Festival highlights electronic jazz scene in São Paulo
The new São Paulo electronic jazz scene is born cosmopolitan and urban, inside future beats wave and along with the cinematic dialogue between the sound and the visual arts. At the same time, the movement drinks aesthetics of masters such as Raul de Souza, Eumir Deodato, Moacir Santos, Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, João Donato, Dom Um Romão and Azymuth.
In its new incarnation, the fusion of the 70s returns as phusion also mixed version and multicultural as did the pioneers, but by enabling machines and instruments to join the remix culture, hip hop and electronic ghetto. Hybrid, this new mutation mix groove and avant-garde jazz oriented.
Again, the jazz in it’s permanent rebellion, shows abilities to adapt, receive and give influence. And more important brings the soul, mind and body with equal power in an indivisible whole. The Phuture, by combining bands, DJs and VJs, becomes ground for an electronic art with Brazilian and Latin characteristics.
Curated by Fabiano Alcantara (journalist, musician) and Fernando TRZ (musician, music producer, designer), the first edition of Phuture receives Lavoura, Mental Abstrato featuring Tássia Reis, Marcelo Monteiro Sextet; the DJs Dudão Melo, Samuel Subcultura and Amadeu Zoe, and VJs Daniel Todeschi, PPires and Rica Ramos.
